(Spirit Lake)– Dickinson county’s new 911 communications tower was erected today (Wednesday).
The new tower was put together on the ground by crews with Electronic Engineering of Fort Dodge. It was lifted into place late this (Wednesday) morning by a large crane. It’s located behind the former Baptist Church and the county’s new utility building on the southwest side of the corner of 19th Street and Ithaca Avenue.
The new tower will be operational once the first phase of the courthouse is completed. The present tower right next to the courthouse will be demolished with the courthouse.
