(Spirit Lake)– The Dickinson County Board of Supervisors today unanimously approved a new map that establishes five supervisor districts. It was approved as drawn by the county’s re-districting commission. Today’s action followed a public hearing that drew a few questions but no visible opposition.
The new map must still be approved by the Secretary of State before it’s official. If state officials reject it, the re-districting commission will have to come up with a new map. County Auditor Nancy Reiman said she feels confident the map meets the state’s guidelines and is cautiously optimistic they’ll accept it.
New plans must be on file by October 15th.
