(Undated)– There will be contested races in two Dickinson county school districts in next month’s school board elections.
In the Harris-Lake Park district, Shelly Heikens and Kelly Jacobson are running for the District Five seat currently held by Stanley Anderson, who is not seeking re-election. Gary Johnson is unopposed for the District Three seat.
In the Okoboji district, three people are running for two open seats. Steve Dulin, Markham Hale and Christopher Stein are running for seats currently held by Mark Fisher and Tom Clary. Neither are seeking re-election.
Just one seat is up for election in Spirit Lake. Incumbent Cliff Garvey was the only person to file.
Incumbents Galen Chicoine and Amy Woodruff have filed for re-election to their respective seats on the Terril school board.
School board elections will be held September 13th.
Last Thursday was the deadline to file nomination papers.
