Dickinson County Asked To Chip In On YMCA

November 23, 2014

(Spirit Lake)– Backers of a proposal to build a new YMCA just south of Spirit Lake want the county to chip in 50-thousand dollars a year over 10 years beginning with the 2003 fiscal year.

Representatives of a steering committee overseeing the fundraising effort made the request at the board of supervisors meeting earlier this week. No action was taken.

Supervisors also viewed a power point presentation on the proposed project.

Backers hope to raise five and-a-half million dollars. So far, they have one-point-three million.
