(Spirit Lake)– The Voluntary Action Center of Dickinson county has reached a special milestone.
Director Joan McCulloch says the organization is celebrating its 30th anniversary this year. She says they’ll comemmorate the occasion with an event Satuday, October 25 when they’ll place a sundial next to the trail at the Dickinson County Nature Center at Kenue Park. The ceremony will begin at 10:15 a.m. with coffee and donuts being served. The sun dial will officially be presented to the county at 10:45.
McCulloch says it was October 11th, 1973 when the articles of incorporation were signed establishing the Voluntary Action Center of Dickinson county.
She says the sundial is very appropriate in that it represents the time and talents that volunteers offer to make Dickinson county a better place for its residents and visitors.
