Dickinson Co. Supervisors Start Interviewing Architects

November 23, 2014

(Spirit Lake)– With only two of five members present, the Dickinson county board of supervisors Thursday started the process of interviewing potential architects for the courthouse bond issue referendum.

The supervisors have set a goal of holding a vote this coming August.

Supervisors Paul Johnson and Pam Jordan met with architect Mark Aspaas of Architecture Incorporated of Sioux Falls–the firm that designed the last courthouse proposal that was defeated at the polls November 7th, 2000.

Aspaas said that if his firm is hired, they could come up with a plan different from three that have failed previously by May 15th. That’s when the supervisors want to have a plan identified. Following that, a bonding attorney would be hired by May 20th, with public informational meetings getting under way July 3rd, with the election in mid-August.

The supervisors are scheduled to interview another architect today (Friday).
