(Spirit Lake)– The Dickinson county board of supervisors Monday met with Al Overlander of the R-D-G Architectural firm of Des Moines and reviewed a timeframe and scope of services the firm is proposing for a courthouse bond issue proposal.
The supervisors voted last week to retain the firm’s services pending a favorable rate being negotiated. A laundry list of services presented Monday has a total cost of 54-thousand dollars. The final cost could be lower once the supervisors decide on which services they actually want to go with. They’ll do that today (Tuesday).
One of the steps early in the process involves a community meeting. It’s scheduled for Tuesday, April 29th at 7:00 p.m. at the Arnolds Park City Hall. Overlander says he wants to hear firsthand what the public’s concerns are on the courthouse issue.
A timetable Overlander is proposing calls for a final report and proposal to be ready for the supervisors by the end of May.
The supervisors are still looking at holding a bond issue election late this summer.
