(Arnolds Park)– Dickinson county’s Emergency Management and 911 Coordinator has pleaded guilty to a charge of public intoxication.
Arnolds Park police allege 31-year-old Timothy Kinnetz of Okoboji was drunk when he arrived at the scene of a boating accident last weekend.
Kinnetz, who’s also a member of the Arnolds Park/Okoboji Fire and Rescue Unit, was arrested and charged with public intoxication…first offense. He was booked into the Dickinson county jail and was released the next morning after pleading guilty. Kinnetz was ordered to pay a 100-dollar fine and court costs.
The Dickinson county Emergency Management-911 Board has temporarily suspended Kinnetz pending a meeting June 26th.
Arnolds Park/Okoboji Fire Chief Steve Dulin tells KUOO news the department met Wednesday evening and voted unanimously to suspend Kinnetz and to remove him from his officer’s position on the fire department. Dulin says Kinnetz’s status will be reviewed later.
Dulin says the whole situation was very unfortunate. He hopes it won’t reflect negatively on the rest of the department’s members, and is asking for the community’s support as they continue to deal with the situation.
