November 22, 2014

(Arnolds Park)– Dickinson county residents will soon have a permanent site to drop off household hazardous waste items.

Okoboji City Administrator Dennis Daly is also the current chairman of the Dickinson County Landfill Commission. He tells KUOO news the 40 by 80 foot facility will be located at the landscape waste drop-off site east of Milford. Daly says it will house equipment, household hazardous wastes such as paint and an office.

A contract on the project has been awarded to Wall to Wall Construction of Sheldon in the amount of 76,500-dollars. Daly says construction will get underway soon. He says the building is on a fast-track for completion.

Daly says most of the cost of the project will be covered through grants.
