(Spirit Lake)– Dickinson county’s E-911 Board Monday awarded a bid on a new communications tower.
The 180-foot tall tower will be constructed adjacent to a utility building under construction near the former Baptist Church.
The low bid of 63,232-dollars. which includes the tower itself, putting it up and attaching transmission lines and antennas…was submitted by and awarded to Electronic Engineering of Fort Dodge.
Money for the project will come out of the county’s 911 funds, although the county had budgeted 80-dollars for the project. It was the feeling of E911 Board members the money remain in the budget to cover any unforeseen expenses.
Construction of the utility building and relocation of the 911 communications tower were necessitated by the courthouse project.
The tower project has a completion date of this coming November 30th.
