(Dickens)– A Dickens man faces charges for allegedly threatening a Clay County Sheriff’s Deputy with a gun outside a bar.
Authorities say it happened around 3:00 a.m. Sunday as the deputy was investigating a hit-and-run in front of Lindy’s Bar on Main Street in Dickens.
While he was investigating, the deputy was approached by 66-year-old Leroy Storey of Dickens. Authorities say Storey refused requests by the deputy to leave and instead pulled out a .44 caliber revolver, which he held up in the air inspite of the deputy’s orders to drop it.
Storey eventually DID drop the weapon. He was then arrested on charges of assault on a peace officer, interference with official acts, weapons charges and public intoxication.
