Dick. Co. Treasurer To Begin DL Services Jan. 14th

November 22, 2014

(Spirit Lake)– Dickinson county residents will again be able to renew their driver’s licenses locally starting shortly after the first of the year.

Dickinson County Treasurer Linda Voss says her office will offer the service on Wednesdays beginning January 14th. She says the services will include renewals, new licenses for those who have moved in from out-of-state, address changes, written C-D-L and motorcycle tests (those needing driving tests will still need to go to the Spencer station), issuance of handicap placards and school permits.

Voss says those needing to pay fines will still have to travel to the “super station” in Spencer as well.

Hours of the local station on Wednesdays will be from 8:30 a.m. until 3:30 p.m. It will be located in the Supervisors Room of the Dickinson County Courthouse in Spirit Lake.

Voss says she’ll be assisted in the operation by two other people, including Sheriff’s Deputy Bob Bringle who will serve as examiner.

Voss says those who utilize the local service will need to be patient as there will be limited manpower and equipment.
