(Orleans)– Efforts to extend a recreational trail along the west side of Big Spirit Lake have pretty much ground to a halt. Randy Pas, Chairman of the Dickinson County Trails Association, says they’re having problems getting easements from the state and private property owners. And he says state funding for trails has been frozen.
Pas is still optimistic the trail will eventually become a reality, but he says it could take atleast three to five years.
