The Lyon County Sheriff’s Department is releasing details about the attempted heist of a hog on Wednesday of this week from a farm located northwest of Little Rock. Authorities arrested 23-year old Eric Freihage of Logan and 20-year old Jonathan Wensel of Pisgah when they pulled over their vehicle at the intersection of Lily Avenue and A-34. The report states that help from concerned citizen allowed law enforcement officers to spot the two as they attempted to load several hogs into a trailer at a hog confinement facility. A search of the vehicle turned up burglary tools and a small amount of marijuana. Freihage is being held at the Lyon County Jail on $50,000 cash bond, and faces charges of burglary 3rd degree, a Class D felony, driving while revoked and possession of a controlled substance, both serious misdemeanors, as well as possession of burglary tools and other traffic citations. Wensel was charged with possession of burglary tools and 3rd degree burglary. He has been released on a $5,000 cash bond. More charges could be forth coming as the investigation is still on-going.
