(Spirit Lake)– For the first time a physician has been on duty 24 hours a day seven days a week at the emergency room at Dickinson County Memorial Hospital this summer.
Marketing Director Jennifer Hickerson says they started offering the full time coverage May 1st when DCMH entered into a contract with Emergency Practice Associates of Waterloo.
Hickerson says a survey of E-R patients indicated a desire for the 24-hour physcian coverage.
DCMH announced last week that Doctor Gary Jacobs is the newest full-time emergency room physician. He’s a resident of Mason City and has been working in the hospital’s emergency room since July.
