(Estherville)– March 9th has been set as the date for a special election to vote for a new Treasurer in Emmet county.
Betty Anderson submitted her resignation in November. Her last day on the job is February 27th.
Emmet county supervisors had appointed Sandy Guge to fill out Anderson’s term. But that’s been negated by a petition with 450 signatures on it calling for a special election. It needed only 336 to be valid.
The deadline to file papers is February 13th.
Nomination papers are available at the Emmet County Auditor’s Office.
