Couple Accused Of Video Taping Nude Adults At Tanning Salon

November 23, 2014

(Storm Lake)– Charges have been filed against a rural Storm Lake couple accused of video taping men and women in the nude while they tanned at a former business they owned in Albert City.

The Buena Vista County Sheriff’s Office says Darwin and Janelle Zoch have each been charged with 58 counts of invasion of privacy…a serious misdemeanor.

Authorities say their investigation stems back to January 31st of this year when they received a report the Zochs were possibly in possession of some video tapes of nude men and women that had been taken at a tanning salon the couple was operating at the time.

Deputies and Storm Lake police then executed a search warrant February 1st at the Zoch residence. Authorities seized several video tapes, video camera and video taping equipment, computer equipment and four firearms.

Authorities say upon examining the tapes, they discovered about 25 victims, both men and women, had been taped while nude, without their knowledge or consent.

The Buena Vista County Sheriff’s Office says its investigation continues and that additional charges are possible.
