(Spencer)– Representatives of the Iowa Lakes Corridor Corporation and the four counties it represents are packing their bags for a trip to the nation’s capital.
They’ll depart Sunday for Washington, D.C. where they’ll be meeting Monday and Tuesday with the local congressional delegation.
Kathy Evert, President of the Iowa Lakes Corridor Development Corporation, says they’ll be lobbying for six projects. They include the Spencer Beltway Project; the Storm Lake Restoration Project; Construction of a Sustainable Energy Education Training Center at Iowa Lakes Community College; upgrading Highway 86 between Highway Nine and the Minnesota border; upgrading emergency communications equipment in Emmet county; and a paving project near an ethanol plant in Albert City.
This year’s delegation consists of 14 representatives from Buena Vista, Clay, Dickinson and Emmet counties.
