(Spencer)– The board of directors of the Iowa Great Lakes Corridor of Opportunity Tuesday approved an 18-month marketing plan for the economic development agency that serves Clay and Dickinson counties.
Executive Director Chad Shryock says the plan represents a major change in the corridor’s marketing strategy. Instead of marketing to every business, Shryock says they’re going to concentrate on a smaller number of businesses and industries they feel they have the most opportunity to bring to the area.
The marketing plan also outlines several goals and challenges the corridor faces. Number one among those, according to Shryock, is workforce development. Others include retention of companies, corridor relations, fostering entrepeneurship for the creation of new businesses and business attraction.
