(Des Moines)– The Iowa Supreme Court’s Grievance Commission has recommended the Assistant City Attorney for Spencer be reprimanded for working as both prosecutor and defense lawyer for the same defendants.
The commission says Bradley Howe violated four provisions of the Iowa Code for Lawyers.
The commission noted cases involving a man arrested by Spencer police in 2003 on a drunken-driving charge and a Spencer teenager charged with burglary and possession of alcohol in late 2002 and early 2003.
The high court can follow the Grievance Commission’s recommendation or it can impose a greater or lesser penalty.
