Commission Ready To Receive Requests For Water Projects

November 23, 2014

(Arnolds Park)– The entity that will oversee a pool of money from Dickinson county and its cities for water quality improvement projects is finalizing procedures for receiving requests.

The Dickinson County Water Quality Commission met again Monday evening to put the finishing touches on its budget. It’s requesting 100-thousand dollars from the county and cities…the maximum amount it can request in its first year of existence. After that, it will go to 200-thousand. The commission has set March 1st, 2002 as the deadline to receive a first round of applications; with the second round due by August 31st, 2002.

Groups requesting funds will need to fill out a written application and make a formal presentation before the Water Quality Commission. Commission Chairman Orville Berg tells KUOO news each project will be considered on its own merit.
