Clinic Realignment To Result In Job Cuts

November 23, 2014

(Spencer)– The transformation of clinics currently operated by Mercy Family Health to the Avera McKennan network will result in the loss of 24 jobs at clinics in Spencer, Milford and Sioux Rapids.

Tom Moser, Senior Vice President of operations for Avera/McKennan, says 47 of the 71 positions at three clinics will be retained under the new arrangement.

The new arrangment doesn’t go in effect until March 1st, but Moser says they’ve already started to interview employees.

Moser says a job fair for the employees being cut will be held early next month in Spencer.

While the clinics in Spencer, Milford and Sioux Rapids will continue to operate under the new affiliation with Avera, Moser says the future of a fourth clinic in Hartley is still uncertain.
