Clay County Wreck Sends Two To Hospital (1)

November 22, 2014

(Royal)– A head-on collision in southern Clay county last week sent two people to the hospital.

The Clay County Sheriff’s Office says 16-year-old Daniel Thomas of Everly was following a northbound semi-truck in a 1992 Chevrolet Lumina. 35-year-old Troy Halverson of Royal was southbound in 1992 Chevrolet pickup and drove past the semi. But because of dust, the two vehicles collided head-on.

Both Thomas and Halverson were taken to Spencer Hospital for treatment of minor injuries.

Both vehicles were totaled.

No charges were filed.

The mishap took place last Thursday about a quarter mile north of 160th Avenue just northeast of Royal.
