Clay County Sheriff’s Office Makes Arrests In Vandalism Cases

(Spencer)– The Clay County Sheriff’s Office has made three arrests following a three and-a-half week investigation into vandalism that took place in rural Clay county and the city of Spencer.

On September 4th authorities received two separate complaints of windows being broken at rural homes. The Spencer Police Department received two complaints of windows broken out of homes. A windshield of a Clay County Sheriff’s squad car was also shattered. Authorities say they received the reports within a two-hour period. Items used to break out the windows included school books, unopened beer cans, a bowling pin and a lava lamp.

No injuries were reported in any of the incidents.

Authorities say their investigation resulted in 17-year-old Michael Pruitt of Spencer being charged with three counts of criminal mischief in the fourth degree…all misdemeanors; and one count of criminal mischief in the second degree…a class “D” felony.

18-year-old Alexander Bubke of Spencer has been charged with one count of criminal mischief in the fourth degree…a serious misdemeanor; and one count of criminal mischief in the second degree…a class “D” felony.

And 17-year-old Christopher Wise of Spencer has been charged with criminal mischief in the second degree…a class “D” felony.

Pruitt and Wise were released to the custody of their parents. Their cases have been referred to juvenile court. Bubke was booked into the Clay county jail on bond of 9,750-dollars.

Authorities say the case is still under investigation and further charges are pending.
