(Spencer)– It didn’t take Clay county authorities long to find a man who escaped today (Thursday) from the custody of a Clay county jailer.
Sheriff Randy Krukow says 22-year-old Charlie Jose Rosales of Reynosa, Mexico got away from the jailer shortly after 10:30 this morning. Krukow says Rosales was being held on felony charges of falsifying public documents and was making an initial appearance before the Clay County Magistrate when he made the slip.
Acting on a citizen’s tip, Rosales was taken back into custody after sheriff’s deputies and Spencer police searched a residence at 201 West Sixth Street.
Rosales is currently being held on a detainer and has also been charged with escape…a class “D” felony.
Krukow says charges of preventing apprehension are pending against the residents of 201 West Sixth.
The sheriff says additional information will be released later.
