It was a busy weekend for the Clay County Sheriffs office. Several drug arrests were made throughout the entire county. On Sunday, a Clay county deputy pulled over a Ford Explorer on Highway 71, just north of Fostoria that was clocked going over 80 mph. The driver of the vehicle, 24 year old Jessica Gottsche of Jackson, Minnesota, was wanted on several arrest warrants out of Dickinson County. She was arrested on the spot along with a passenger in her vehicle–27 year old Olivia Enger of Sioux City. A search of the vehicle turned up methamphetamine, meth precursors, cocaine, marijuana, concealed weapons, and drug paraphernalia. Gottsche has been charged with possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. Enger is charged with possession of meth with intent to deliver, possession of cocaine, possession of cocaine, possession of meth precursors, carrying weapons, and possession of drug paraphernalia. Gottsche is being held in the Clay County jail on a nearly 3-thousand bond and Enger is in the county jail with a 83-thousand dollar bond. The deputy tried to stop the vehicle, but the driver refused and a chase began. The driver–28 year old Demetrio Perez of Sioux Rapids was arrested and charged with an OWI, a felony charge of eluding, speeding, and driving without proof of insurance. Perez was placed in the Clay County jail with a 12-thousand dollar bond.
