Clay County accident

November 22, 2014

A 2-vehicle collision late last week near Everly sent an Osceola County teen to the hospital.

The Clay County Sheriffs Office says the collision occurred around 9:30 Friday morning on Highway 18, about a 1/2 mile east of M-27, just north of Everly.

Seventeen year old James Bushee of Allendorf was eastbound on Highway 18 when he collided with a vehicle that had pulled out of a farm drive. The other driver, 78 year old Donald Pearson of Everly, told deputies that he did not see Bushee until it was too late.

Bushee’s vehicle left the roadway, struck a mailbox, and ended up in the south ditch. The Pearson vehicle came to rest on the north shoulder.

Bushee was taken to the Spencer Hospital for treatment of multiple injuries. Pearson was uninjured in crash.

Pearson was cited in the collision with failure to yield upon entering a highway.
