(Spencer)– Clay county schools will get more money for infrastructure projects as the result of a special election Tuesday.
Just over 100 votes separated those for and against the SILO tax. It was just enough for the measure to pass. Of the 3,206 total votes cast, 1,638 voted in favor while 1,535 were opposed.
About 26.5 percent of the registered voters in Clay county voted in Tuesday’s election.
The one cent tax will go in effect this January and run through December 31st, 2013.
