Clay Co. Traffic Stop Turns Up Stash Of Cash

November 22, 2014

(Spencer)– A traffic stop in Clay county has resulted in authorities seizing a large sum of money.

Clay County Sheriff Randy Krukow says a deputy stopped a vehicle early New Year’s Day on Highway 71 on the south edge of Fostoria. An investigation led to the seizure of a thousand dollars in cash along with illegal items related to methamphetamine use. Authorities later determined the cash was also related to illegal narcotics activities.

The driver of the vehicle, Paul Haar, who’s age and address wasn’t immediately available, was issued a receipt for the cash. Authorities say forfeiture proceedings are underway.
