(Spencer)– A traffic stop Thursday afternoon near Gillett Grove has resulted in drug charges against two people.
The Clay County Sheriff’s Office says a deputy stopped a vehicle at 1:40 p.m. on 270th Avenue northwest of Gillett Grove. The driver was identified as 45-year-old Alauna Morris of rural Spencer. A passenger, 35-year-old Danny Alspach of Spencer, was found to be intoxicated.
A further investigation resulted in a deputy finding an opened container of alcohol in the vehicle, along with a pipe used for smoking marijuana. Quantities of marijuana and additional pieces of paraphernalia were also found.
Morris and Alspach were taken into custody and charged with possession of a controlled substance…marijuana…a serious misdemeanor; and possession of drug paraphernalia…a simple misdemeanor. Alspach was also charged with having an open container of alcohol.
Both were booked into the Clay county jail. Bond for Morris was set at 2,275-dollars while Alspach was being held on 2,600-dollars bond.
