Clay Co. Traffic Stop Lands Two In Jail On Drug Charges

(Spencer)– A traffic stop last week in Clay county landed two people in jail on drug charges.

The Clay County Sheriff’s Office says Martha Rodriguez of Storm Lake and Martin Lopez of Worthington, Minnesota were arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver methamphetamine…a class “B” felony; failure to affix a drug tax stamp…a class “D” felony; and possession of drug paraphernalia…a simple misdemeanor.

Authorities allege Rodriguez and Lopes were in possession of a large quantity of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia.

Rodriguez and Lopez were taken to the Clay county jail where they’re being held on 139,825-dollars bond.

Authorities say their investigation continues and more arrests and expected.
