Christensen Wins Special Election To Fill Vacancy On Arnolds Park Council

November 23, 2014

(Arnolds Park)– Jason Christensen won a special election Tuesday to fill a vacancy on the Arnolds Park City Council.

Unofficial results had Christiansen receiving 36 votes. The next highest vote getter was Mitch Watters with 32 followed by Richard Miller with 16.

Christiansen will fill a seat vacated by the resignation of Karen Riskedahl. About two years are left in the term.

Christensen owns Captain’s Getaway in Arnolds Park. Complaints of loud music from the establishment resulted in the city adopting a strict noise ordinance a couple years ago that resulted in the bar having to enclose what used to be an outdoor service area.
