(Estherville)– Two people face charges for illegally using a shooting range that’s designated for use only by law enforcement.
The Estherville Police Department says officers were coducting K-9 training at the department’s firing range south of Estherville around 11:15 p.m. August 16th when they found a purse in the parking lot belonging to Andrea Morrow Garrison-Lange.
Following an investigation, officers determined the woman had left the purse at the range while target shooting earlier in the day with a man identified as Howard Reed Wright of Estherville.
Garrison-Lange was cited into court for one count of criminal trespass; Wright was arrested on one count of criminal trespass and one count of possession of a firearm as a convicted felon…a class “D” felony.
Wright appeared in Emmet County Magistrate Court and was held on a $9,750 cash or surety bond.
Estherville police remind everyone the firing range south of Estherville is only available to law enforcement or authorized persons only. They say persons found using the range without permission will be charged with criminal trespass.
