(Arnolds Park)– Changes could be coming in the issuance of Peddler’s, Solicitor’s and Transient Merchant Permits in Arnolds Park.
City Administrator Ron Walker told the city council Wednesday he’s received a request from a business person in town to sell items from a cart that would be pushed up and down streets in the amusement park and downtown areas. The council is concerned it could open the door to further requests and could eventually get out of hand, with push cart operators competing against established businesses. They want the push cart operations limited to residential areas only.
Walker says he’ll tweak the ordinance to reflect the change and bring it back to the council at a special meeting June 26th.
Walker says the number of applications the city gets for Peddler’s, Solicitors and Transient merchant permits only keep going up each year.
