Changes At Polaris Industires

November 22, 2014

Polari Industries has decided to get out of the watercraft business. Company President Tom Tiller flew to Spirit Lake to announce the decision to employees at the plant where the watercraft were assembled this morning.

Polaris Industries has lost money on watercraft every year since it started manufacturing them in 1994. Tiller said the decision will not affect hourly workers in Spirit Lake, who focus instead on the company’s successful All-Terrain Vehicle line.

Polaris has 38 hundred employees world-wide, abouty 500 right here in Spirit Lake. About 20 salaried employees will be displaced by the decision to discontinue the manufacture of watercraft, some locally and some at corporate headquarters in Medina, MN.
