(Spirit Lake)– A few tense moments Monday evening in the Center Lake area.
The Spirit Lake Fire Department was called to a grass fire near lot 88 on 25th street in the Center Lake area around 5:30 p.m. Fire Chief Wally Jorgenson says the blaze burned an area about 200 yards long and 20 to 30 feet wide. Jorgenson says the cause is under investigation. He said some youth playing with matches had been spotted in the area prior to the fire breaking out.
No evacuations took place…even though the fire was in a heavily residential area.
The Spirit Lake Fire Department was at the scene about 20 minutes.
