(Spirit Lake)– Two people were taken to the hospital Thanksgiving Day when the vehicle they were in collided with a house in Spirit Lake.
Police say 85-year-old George Bowman of rural Lakefield was backing from a driveway at 904 25th Street when he lost control and collided with a house next door at 902 25th Street…just missing a gas meter.
Bowman and a passenger in the vehicle he was driving, his wife Janice, were taken by ambulance to Lakes Regional Healthcare. Their injuries weren’t believed to be serious.
Three thousand dollars in damage was estimated to a 1987 Pontiac Bowman was driving; damage to the house was estimated at two-thousand.
The mishap took place around 5:00 p.m. Thursday.
