(Ringsted)– Karen Butler of Estherville was officially declared the Republican candidate for the House District seven seat at a special nominating convention Tuesday evening.
Butler was nominated by Republican committee members in her district. The convention was needed because Butler’s decision to run was made after the deadline to file for the Primary Election.
House Majority Leader Chuck Gipp of Decorah has announced his endorsement of Butler.
House District Seven includes Emmet and Palo Alto counties and northern Kossuth county.
