Burglary & Weapons Charges Filed Against Emmetsburg Men

November 23, 2014

(Emmetsburg)– Burglary and weapons charges have been filed against three Emmetsburg men in connection with a burglary of a rural Emmetsburg residence.

The Palo Alto County Sheriff’s Office was called to the residence Saturday and found a door had been kicked in. Numerous guns and bows, some black powder and other hunting items were reported missing.

Authorities say an investigation led to the arrests of 24-year-old Nathan Morgan, 18-year-old Joseph Hilton and 21-year-old Aaron Manz…all of Emmetsburg. They’ve been charged with third degree burglary and weapons trafficking for knowingly possessing stolen firearms. Both charges are class “D” felonies.

Palo Alto county authorities say they recovered 12 stolen guns, two hunting bows, some black gun powder and other hunting items worth nearly four thousand dollars from four locations in rural Ayrshire and in Emmetsburg.
