(Arnolds Park)– Former Governor Terry Branstad was in the Iowa Great Lakes this past weekend stumping for Republican candidates for Governor and State House and Senate.
Branstand sounded off on transportation and economic development. He blasted Governor Tom Vilsack for not doing enough to try to persuade the Blue Bird Bus Company to stay in Vilsack’s hometown of Mount Pleasant. Branstad says economic development once again needs to become a priority in the Governor’s office. He also criticized reductions that were made to the state’s economic development budget.
After making appearances in the Iowa Great Lakes, the former Governor traveled to Spencer where he presided over a ribbon cutting ceremony for the new Clay County Republican Party Headquarters on Highway 18 east.
