(Undated)– Motorists are still being urged to exercise caution today (Thurs.) following Wednesday’s bout with blowing snow.
The Iowa State Patrol says the snow stuck to the pavement in places, melted, and re-froze…causing glare ice to form. It sent many motorists into the ditch.
Fortunately, no serious injuries were reported in any of the mishaps, but law enforcement and wrecker operators were kept busy.
Poor visibility and slick roads resulted in many schools letting out early Wednesday. Many of those started late this (Thurs.) morning. Others, like Terril and Ruthven-Ayrshire, called off classes altogether.
