Bidletting Set For Dickinson County Bridge Project

November 23, 2014

(Spirit Lake)– The Dickinson county board of supervisors Tuesday set May 20th as the date for a bidletting to replace a bridge over the west fork of the Little Sioux River on 140th Street.

County Engineer Dan Eckert says the project has a late start date of June 17th. It’s to be completed by October 1st of this year.

Eckert also told the supervisors progress has been made in talks with Qwest Communications to relocate a utility box that sits in the middle of right-of-way on War Eagle Boulevard in the Triboji Beach area. The county wants to upgrade the street, but the box has to be moved first. Eckert says a timeframe hasn’t been established yet. He says Qwest officials told him it will be a major project as the box converts fiber optic cable to copper. It serves customers on the west side of West Lake Okoboji, and he’s been told their phone service will probably have to be disrupted atleast briefly while the box is moved.
