(West Okoboji)– Authorities have released the name of a teenager injured early Thursday in a car/bicycle accident in West Okoboji.
The Iowa State Patrol identifies the victim as 13-year-old Jared Wolthuis of Milford.
Wolthuis was riding a bike that was involved in a collision with a car driven by 25-year-old Clinton Clark of Spirit Lake.
Wolthuis sustained multiple injuries. He was transported to Dickinson County Memorial Hospital and was transferred to Avera McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls. His condition isn’t being released.
Authorities say the mishap occurred around 1:00 a.m. Thursday at the intersection of Highway 71 and 202nd Street in West Okoboji.
The State Patrol says Wolthuis was riding his bike southbound along the highway at the time of the collision.
No charges have been filed.
