(Emmetsburg)– One person has been taken into custody, and authorities are looking for another suspect allegedly involved in a residential burglary Friday in Palo Alto county.
The Palo Alto County Sheriff’s Office says officers were called shortly before Noon to 4462 Works Road just outside of Emmetsburg after getting a report of two individuals burglarizing the residence and that the victim of the burglary that had been chasing them caught up with one of the suspects. The other suspect continued to run into Emmetsburg.
The suspect that was caught up with was taken to the Palo Alto County Sheriff’s Office for questioning.
Upon further investigation it was determined the two suspects had entered the residence and took an undetermined amount of coins from the home.
20-year-old Alan Goetz of Des Moines was arrested and charged with burglary in the third degree…a class “D” felony.
Goetz was booked into the Palo Alto county jail and is being held pending an initial appearance before a judge.
Authorities say the second suspect was still at-large as of late Friday afternoon and that arrest warrants were being issued.
