(Emmetsburg)– Authorities in Emmetsburg and Clay county are investigating a recent rash of break-ins and attempted break-ins.
Emmetsburg police say they received reports of break-ins last Friday at McNalley’s Bake Shop, The Video Warehouse and the Nauss Oil gas station.
Authorities say someone used a pry-bar on the south entrance of McNalley’s to gain entrance to that business. The perpetrator made off with a small amount of bills and change. Damage was estimated at 1,500-dollars.
A back door was kicked in at The Video Warehouse where some game systems and video games were reported missing, valued at 900-dollars.
Over 100-dollars in damage was reported in the Nauss Oil break-in.

And authorities in Clay county are investigating an attempted break-in at a Dickens restaurant.
While on patrol Friday, a Clay county deputy noticed a broken window next to the front door of Lindy’s Steakhouse at 205 Main Street. The deputy also discovered someone had tried to kick in the front door of the building, but entrance was not gained. Damage to the business was estimated at 430-dollars.
