(Ashton)– A local fire department has been awarded a sizable grant through the U-S Department of Homeland Security.
U-S Senator Tom Harkin announced Thursday the Ashton Fire Department will be getting 93,100-dollars for equipment, technology and training.
A total of 5.3 million dollars was awarded to 60 Iowa fire departments in this round of funding.
