Arrest Of Primghar Man Results In Meth Lab Discovery

November 22, 2014

(Primghar)– The arrest of a Primghar man who was wanted on a Palo Alto county warrant has resulted in the discovery of items used to make methamphetamine.

The O’Brien County Sheriff’s Office says a deputy arrested 38-year-old Orrin Cain last Saturday on an outstanding criminal warrant from Palo Alto county. Upon making the arrest, the deputy discovered a small amount of methamphetamine and lithium battery on Cain’s person. He was charged with possession of lithium…a class “D” felony; and possession of methamphetamine…a serious misdemeanor. Cain was released from the O’Brien county jail after posting three thousand dollars bond.

Authorities say that incident led to the execution of a search warrant Tuesday on Cain’s residence and an attached garage in Primghar. Authorities seized chemicals and materials from the garage alleged to be items used to manufacture methamphetamine. Cain was arrested again and was booked into the O’Brien county jail on charges of possession of anhydrous ammonia…a class “D” felony; possession of anhydrous ammonia in an unauthorized container…a serious misdemeanor; possession of ethyl ether…a class “D” felony; and possession of drug paraphernalia…a simple misdemeanor.

Cain appeared before a judge this (Wed.) morning who ordered he be held on bond of 9,750-dollars.

Authorities say their investigation continues and additional charges and arrests are likely.
