(Arnolds Park)– The city of Arnolds Park is going to crack down on illegal dumping.
The city council has decided to put signs on dumpsters warning that any unauthorized person that gets caught using them is violating city code and will be fined five-hundred dollars.
City officials say the problem has been on the rise recently. They say it’s one of the downfalls of a volume-based charge for garbage disposal.
Many cities have adopted such a system to try to cut down on the amount of garbage going to the landfill.
