Arnolds Park Council Revises Lodging Ordinance

November 22, 2014

(Arnolds Park)– The Arnolds Park city council Wednesday adopted a revision to the city’s zoning ordinance pertaining to residential and commercial lodging operations.

Under the revision, commercial lodging is defined as that having a habitation period of a month or less; residential lodging must be for a month or greater.

City Administrator Ron Walker says the main purpose of the clarification is to cut down on the incidents of people moving in and out of vacation rentals in residential areas.

Vacation rentals in residential areas of lakes area cities have generated opposition from neighbors over noise, parking and other issues.
