Arnolds Park Council Members Vow To Reclaim Public Accesses

November 22, 2014

(Arnolds Park)– The city of Arnolds Park is going to reclaim some public accesses that have been encroached upon over the years by neighboring property owners.

The city council made that vow Wednesday evening after voting three-to-one to deny permission from a neighbor to repair a concrete driveway that extends onto a public access at Sunset Beach.

Rick Kleen represented the property owner who made the request. He said if the city is going to reclaim that access, it needs to do the same with others that have been encroached on over the years.

The concensus of the council was to do just that…and to post the accesses with signs, since many people don’t even know the accesses exist. Several council members added they would like to see concrete walkways on the accesses.

Council member Susan Munson said she feels it’s time for the city of Arnolds Park to reclaim what rightfully belongs to the public.
